I gave the keynote address at the culmination of a week-long SDA camp meeting within the walls of the Kitale prison. I shared parts of my testimony that go way back to the Quiet Hour prison Minister, Keith Johnson, back in 1991.

As as you can see from the videos, it was a high day for everyone involved!

Some of the inmates are deacons or elders, if allowed by the SDA Church. They do almost everything for the usual Sabbath service. The Chaplaincy just mentors, counsels and interfaces with the prison officials and guards in planning for the provision of buildings and time of worship.
BTW, The recidivism rate in Kenya is inverted compared to the US. Here, only 2% are ever re-incarcerated!
