Karen’s 3rd week was supposed to be spent with a man named Gibson, with whom she has been working for over a year. He and his dedicated Adventist group in Keroka, Kenya, are understanding the Cleansing Message. She preaches every Sabbath morning from her home in West Virginia, using Zoom and Gibson translates.

Keroka is about a 5 hour drive south of Kitale. (At least that’s what Google maps says). The drive goes past Lake Victoria to the west. The Kenyan side of Serengeti National Park is to the south and Nairobi is due East.
“As we were looking for Gibson’s group,” Karen says, “we stopped at a large Adventist camp meeting. They just invited me right up to the front so that I could be introduced as this ‘visitor from America.’ I preached a mini, 4-minute sermon about how soon Jesus is coming, how we need to be sealed, and how an understanding of the sanctuary is key. They got so excited that they asked me to come back the next day for an hour segment! Stay tuned!”

“BTW, I have been working very hard over here “on the other side.” That is something the locals say all the time. It means: anywhere else but where they are. I find it to be such an endearing expression!”
